Envy - Nadine (Robot Koch remix) by stopstartrecords

the leaves (bleubird version) by carsandtrains

Back in Mid 2008 I wrote about this feisty Manchester based MC calling her "straight up fresh" and warned all those about to label her just another Midget in the game, when I said "This ain't no Lady Sov or Lilly Allan wannabe, Carving her own distinct path by working with some of the UK's deadliest hip hop and Grime producers (Kid British, Medasyn) this lady is to be watched".
I wasn't wrong. Sure, she's cleaned up a tad in the last 2 years...got some new threads, slapped on some make-up, and has given the old boncey tendrils a straightening, hell she's even appeared on the UK's 'Big Brother's Big Mouth tv show, But the ballsy 22 year old is still in top form.
Her debut release 'Set yourself On Fire' is set to drop on 'Stopstart Records' in the Uk, the first single of which is already available for digital download world wide...Here's the video for the title track.
ENVY - 'SET YOURSELF ON FIRE'
BONUS!! -
Robot Koch of Jahcoozi and 'Robots Don't Sleep' fame, recently served up this dirty remix of Envy's joint 'Nadine' the first single from the new record to be released March 15th.
Very sharp indeed...Check it!

Jookabox

This video came out a second ago, but I love it and the animation is brilliant, created by Spain`s Rafa Toro, it features a super cute boy & girl Phantom, and is truly awesome.
Jookabox is the brain child of David Adamson, an artist based in Indianapolis, who starting in grade school, recorded music on a four track given to him by his uncle. His sound has developed over the years, mashing genres and blending on his debut release `Ropechain`, what his label (Asthmatic Kitty) call - "old-time spirituals, punk, chain-gang hymnal, deep house, and club music hip-hop."
So here`s the video for the song `Don`t Go Phantom`from his latest full length `Dead Zone Boys`...Killah!

Cubic Zirconia

So it wasn't long ago that we sang the praises of Cubic Zirconia's single 'Fuck work'...Last summer that was our anthem, then last fall they did a show with Sydney/NYC based duo APSCI and Mishna, the poster for which we awarded the poster of the month on our site.
Apsci are one of our fave husband and wifey duos, and together create some seriously killah videos for their releases (check the one for 'Under Control'), so we weren't surprised to hear they were working on a video for fellow New Yorkers 'Cubic Zirconia'....The name of song? 'Josephine'...the theme? Jungle, tropics, lion and tiger vibes...Oh, My!
They're playing 'Glasslands Gallery' in Brooklyn on Valentines day...If you're in Williamsburg, hanging south side that evening check 'em out!

Cars & Trains

We Love this lad...He's based in Portland, Oregon and goes under the handle 'Cars & Trains'. He's been on my cool-dar for more than a second...His new album 'The Roots, The Leaves' dropped in late January on Fake Four Inc and is tops...Nab it!
This video is for the instrumental song 'The Leaves' and is an adaptation of a film created by Jon at High Frequency Media.
BUT FIRST!
Bonus!! -
The instrumental version of 'The Leaves' by 'Cars & Trains' featuring some slicker than slick spitting by Florida's 'Bleubird'...Very Nice indeed!
